Where did the idea for Rozee.pk come from?
In 2003, I moved back to Pakistan with a small amount of angel investment, the first form of investment that start-ups get from friends. Among the angel investors was Reid Hoffman, who was the founder of PayPal and LinkedIn and Mark Pincus who started Zynga.
I started a Muslim social networking site in the early days, for people to meet and interact. It was called naseeb.com. It’s a very well-known site in the US, more than it is here. It was free of charge, and six months later we started charging and added features through which people could pay. It grew very rapidly.
