The unveiling was attended by a diversity of personalities including photographer Amean J, model and actress Aamina Sheikh, fashion designers Bunto Kazmi and Sania Maskatiya and fashion retailer AsadTareen. Public Relations for the event was handled by Lotus.

YOC'A’s Artists Sarah, Ahsan and Zayd showcased an exemplary pairing of both contemporary and heritage pieces. The show included furniture, fabrics, art and lighting carefully selected for all rooms of the house. IndeedYOC'A's Trousseau Collection 2013 presented collectible furniture with one of a kind heirloom pieces infused with simpler pieces, the revival of ancient techniques such as the hand cross stitch that is used on sofas and cushions.

Visitors and patrons had a chance to witness furniture as fashion with custom designed chairs replete with zips and wheels. YOC'A also reintroduced the cabinet in the drawing room concept, showcasing this in varying sizes and proportions with details such as block printing on the inside and intricate inlay on the outside. Paired with selected art, fabrics and lights, YOC'A offers a complete interior look. The trend in the show was to pair more casually finished pieces with opulent ones to create a dynamic that is affordable yet luxurious. Based in a color pallete of soothing greys and beiges, the collection infused hints of color such as emerald green, 2013's color of the year, making an appearance. Metals such as brass, steel and rich stones also appeared on some of the heirloom pieces.

Speaking on the new collection Sarah, Ahsan and Zayd said: “We are excited about this collection as it gives us the opportunity to show some of our very unique pieces alongside the more affordable, yet luxurious, ones. We feel it gives the YOC'A client accessibility to some designs that appear only in our interiors, and also allows us to demonstrate how we at YOC'A pair pieces together. Titled as ‘The Showcase’, the show was attended by 300 guests including celebrities from showbiz and sports, known figures from the corporate world, and famous socialites the show will be remembered by all the participants for a long time for all the good reasons.

The guests were warmly greeted at the red carpet by the ever so fabulous Natasha Hussain in her peculiarly informal yet mannered style. From the red carpet the guests entered The Bata Gallery where Bata’ bands and products were beautifully displayed in a highly innovative environment, giving a glimpse into each brand. The arena was quite a masterpiece for its ambience, and modern yet graceful feel befitting the occasion. The refreshments that were served were really refreshing for their quality, taste and presentation.

The show started with the MC Faizan Haq’s characteristically skilful presentation of the brand Bata and its history. Following this, accomplished and upcoming models strutted the ramp showcasing Bata’s footwear collection including Ambassador, Marie Claire, Bubblegummers, Power, North Star, Leena, Comfit, and Weinbrenner. The ramp, the choreography and the environment all stayed in sync to make this a wonderful presentation. The vintage bike and the background score added to the verve on the ramp.

"Great show! It was really fun and exciting to be here to see what Bata is doing and it’s fabulous," said one of the guests. "Simply fantastic, I liked the Bata Gallery," said another.

Everyone appreciated the efforts of the organisers for putting in their best to make the show a success. Some of the guests admired it for the beauty of presenting generally ignored shoes as fashion articles, in an effective manner.

Overall, it was a beautiful evening by Bata, which augurs well for the footwear and fashion industries and the relevant business circles. It is hoped that more such events will come to Lahore in the days ahead.

The exhibition was attended by a diversity of personalities including Mian Hussain Ahmed Fazal, Director Hussain Mills Limited, models Cybil, Nadia Ali, Zara Peerzada and Nooray Bhatti who were all sporting Élan Lawn ensembles. The event was managed by J&S Events with Public Relations by Lotus.

For Élan Lawn, designer Khadijah Shah’s inspiration comes from a diversity of local and international influences with an underlying theme based in the dominant use of bright bold colors and an abundance of intermixing patterns. With Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri as the exclusive brand ambassador, Élan Lawn endeavours to introduce unique trends such as print upon print, with the dupatta, shirt and bottom all bearing different patterns. The collection also offers a variety of panels and borders which can be put together according to each consumer’s individual aesthetic sense. The prints are based on floral, geometric, oriental, Turkic and Indian motifs making the collection abundantly versatile and offering something for everyone. Additionally, each print is paired with Élan’s signature embroidered and printed satin panels.

On the launch of Élan Lawn S/S 2013, Fashion Designer Khadijah Shah has said, “Last year’s debut into lawn was fantastic for Élan. It was 2012’s sell out response that prompted us to go bigger this year with a new textile collaborator, more prints and diversity.”

Élan Lawn S/S 2013 comes in fifteen designs in two color ways each with a color palette on trend for the season, showcasing a variety of hues such as lush greens and blues, berry pinks and sunshine yellows.

Following Lahore, the collection will be exhibited on the 14th of March in Karachi at The Palm and the 16th and 17th March at The Ramada in Multan. Post exhibitions the prints will become available nationwide at all leading stores and at the PFDC store in New Delhi. Élan Lawn will also be available at various retailers across Pakistan, India, UAE, UK and Saudia Arabia.
