KABUL: The Afghan ministry of foreign affairs on Sunday announced that the agenda for President Hamid Karzai’s visit to Pakistan has been finalized.
Janan Mosazai, spokesman for the foreign affairs ministry of Afghanistan said that the agenda includes discussion on key role of Pakistan in Afghan peace process and fight against terrorism.
Although the date for president Hamid Karzai’s visit to Pakistan is not finalized, but the ministry of foreign affairs of Afghanistan says that the visit could take place at the end of this month.
Foreign affairs ministry spokesman told reporters, “The discussions will focus on security issues, fight against terrorism and extremism in the region and the need for honest and practical campaign against terrorism, which is an ill-fated phenomenon for the two countries.”
Mosazai further added that the agenda will also focus on key role of Pakistan to support Afghan peace efforts and a practical reconciliation process with the Taliban group, and improvement of bilateral economic and trade ties.
This will be the first visit by president Hamid Karzai to Pakistan after Nawaz Sharif was elected as the prime minister of Pakistan, and the visit takes place after the national security and foreign affairs adviser to Pakistani prime minister Sartaj Aziz visited Kabul earlier last month.
