ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh Friday said that after the downward trend in production for some past years, the industrial sector is now showing positive growth.
Shaikh said in his budget speech that as compared to the growth of 3.1percent last year, the growth rate remained at 3.4 percent this year he said, however added that this is also not upto the mark.
He said that the growth has been witnessed at a time when country is facing shortage of gas and electricity adding that increase has been witnessed in production of automobiles, textiles and chemicals.
He said that growth in overall economy will help stimulate growth in industrial sector adding that the government was providing incentives to the industrial sector.
