According to Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, the Indian diplomats have been asked to co-ordinate with Deputy Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Office, Camp Office Lahore and with the MS of Jinnah Hospital for consular arrangements.
Earlier on Sunday, the spokesman said that the family members of Sarabjeet Singh also visited the hospital and met with the doctors and saw Sarabjeet.
The hospital offered a room for the family members to stay, in case they wanted to be close to the patient, however they chose to stay in a hotel, he said, adding the family members will be able to visit Sarabjeet whenever they want and full Co-operation is being given to them by the Punjab government and the hospital staff.
"The government of Pakistan remains committed to provide all assistance necessary to the family of Sarabjeet and will continue to cooperate with the Indian authorities in this regard," the spokesman added.
Sarabjit Singh, who was sentenced to death 16 years ago on espionage charges, was rushed to the Jinnah Hospital last Friday with multiple wounds, including a severe head injury, after scuffle with his fellow inmates which rendered him unconscious.
