JI condemns death sentence to Bangladesh leader

Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, strongly condemned a Bangladesh court verdict pronouncing death sentence to eminent religious scholar and JI leader Maulana Dilawar Husain Saeedi, and warned that this could plunge Bangladesh into a civil war.

The JI Ameer urged Pakistan government not to keep silence on this development as the accused along with other opposition leaders are being tried for showing their loyalty to Pakistan and had actually been opposing the break up of the country. He has also urged the International Human Rights Commission and the Amnesty International take notice of the glaring human rights violations in Bangladesh.
