ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has written a letter to the Supreme Court of Pakistan stating that an independent investigation should be conducted into allegations against him in the Rental Power case.
According to sources, the prime minister has requested that an independent investigation commission headed by Shoaib Suddle be formed to probe into the matter.
Sources further added that Prime Minister Ashraf consulted his legal aides particularly Law Minister Naek prior to sending the letter to the Supreme Court.
In his letter the prime minister wrote that corruption allegations against him were nothing but a scam to defame him and he had never tried to influence NAB or any other institution.
