Ex-PPP MNA survives IED attack

Pakistan Peoples Party's former MNA Akhunzada Chattan survived the IED blast in Bajaur Agency here on Saturday.

According to PPP leader Naveed Afzal Chand, Akhunzada's bullet-proof vehicle was totally destroyed in the attack while his brother was badly injured.

The sources said that Akhunzada Chattan was on his way from the town of Khar to Mandal village to attend a political gathering when the IED planted on a roadside exploded.

As a result, some vehicles in Chattan's convoy got damaged but he managed to escape the attack unhurt. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while condemning the attack said terrorists' networks had been eliminated and such cowardly acts were a sign of their desperation.
