Independence Day celebrations: WAPDA Sports Board organises competitions
WAPDA Sports Board organized Karate, Swimming and Volley Ball competitions at WAPDA Sports Complex, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, in which the participating players demonstrated their talent and earned applause from the spectators in their respective sports.

These competitions were organized as a part of week-long Independence Day celebrations under the banner of Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) in compliance with the special instructions of the Prime Minister. In Volley Ball Competition, two teams namely Volley ball A and B participated. Volley ball B team displayed their superior skills to down the A team to clinch top position in the event.
In Men's Swimming Competition, Mumtaz Ahmad (200 M IM), Talha (50 M Breast Stroke), Adnan Hashim (50 M Butterfly), M. Yahya (50 M Back Stroke), Faiz Rasool (50 M Free Style) secured first positions in their respective categories. In Women's Swimming Competition Sarah Tajammal (50 M Breast Stroke U-16), Hadia Qayyum (50 M Breast Stroke U-14), Zeenia (50M Breast Stroke U-10), Sara Tajammal (50 M Breast Stroke, Open), Sara Tajammal (50 M Back Stroke U-16), Zara Khanzada (50 M Back Stroke U-14), Zara Khanzada (50 M Butterfly U-14), Zeenia (50 M Butterfly U-10), Aimal Raza (50 M Free Style, Open), Maneezeh (50 M Free Style U-16), and Zara (50 M Free Style U-14) bagged top positions in their respective categories.In Karate Competition, Ali Mahmood in individual category, Muhammad Kashif, Awais Taj and Sameer Ahmad in team event and Ali Mahmood, Saweel Fayyaz and Farhan Taj in team kumite event defeated their rivals to clinch first positions in their respective categories. In Women category, Memoona Qadeer in individual kata, Memoona Qadeer, Samra Ikram and Mehak Ikram in team kata and Binish Akbar, Qurat-ul-Ain, Mehreen Baber and Mahnoor Toheed in team kumite bagged top positions in their respective events by overpowering their rivals. Wajhat Rana, President of NTDC Sports Association, Sajjad Ahmad, Director General Budget and Co-ordination, WAPDA and Rao Zameer-ud-Din, CEO LESCO, were the chief guests at swimming, karate and volleyball competitions respectively.
