furnal-PESHAWAR: Funeral prayer of Khyber Pakthunkhwa Senior Minister and ANP Parliamentary Leader, Bashir Ahmed Bilour was held here on Sunday at Capt Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Stadium.

 

Khyber Pakthunkhwa Governor, Barrister Masood Kausar, Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik, Central President of Awami National Party (ANP), Asfandyar Wali Khan, Spokesman to President Office, Senator Farhatullah Khan Babar, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, PML-Q General Secretary Mushahid Hussain Syed, Federal Minister for Railways, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Federal Minister for Communications, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan, Opposition leader in KP Assembly and former Chief Minister, Akram Khan Durrani attended the funeral prayers.

 

ANP Sindh President Senator Shahi Sayed, PPP KP President Anwar Saifullah Khan, Balochistan Nationalist Party leader Hasil Bazenjo, PML-N Senior Vice President, Engr Amir Muqam, former Interior Minister and Chairman Qumi Watan Party Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, Information Minister KP, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Member Mutahida Qumi Movement Rabta Committee Gulfaraz Khattak, federal and provincial ministers, Senators, Members National Assembly, bureaucrats, civil officers, former nazims, ANP workers from KP, Balochistan and Sindh also attended the funeral prayers.

 

Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, KP Governor Masood Kausar and Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti laid wreath on body of Shaheed, wrapped in national flag, when it reached at the venue, and offered Fateha.

 

On this occasion, a contingent of KP police presented guard of honour and salute to the coffin of the Shaheed. Later, his body was shifted to his native graveyard, adjacent to Syed Hasan Pirbiri graveyard where he was laid to rest.

 

On Saturday evening, Bashir Ahmed Bilour, SHO Khan Razik Police Station Sattar Khan Khattak, Bilour's personal secretary Noor Muhammad and six others persons were killed and 18 others injured when a suicide bomber targeted the KP Senior Minister after attending a ANP public gathering in Dhaki Nalbandi.

 

President Asif Ali Zardari, Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, PMQ Chief Altaf Hussain have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Bashir Ahmed Bilour.  The national flag is hoisting half mast on public buildings as the Federal Government has announced one day national mourning and the KP Government three days over the tragedy.

 

The ANP Khyber Pakthunkhwa has announced ten days mourning on the assassination of Bashir Ahmed Bilour and killing of others eight people in the suicide bomb blast.

 

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers of SHO Sattar Khattak and personal secretary of the minister Noor Muhammad were also offered at village Behram Karak and Kakshal Peshawar today. Later, they were laid to rest in their ancestral graveyards.
