SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were down 0.13 percent in early trade Wednesday on cautious sentiment ahead of the release of key economic data at the end of the week, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, slipped 2.72 points to 2,161.72.
China will announce economic growth for the second quarter and other indicators for June on Friday.
