BEIJING: China's corn imports in 2013 are forecast to drop to 1 million tonnes, down more than 80 percent from an estimated 5.5 million tonnes in 2012, government think tank China National Grain and Oils Information Center said in a report on Thursday.
The big fall was driven by a surge in US corn prices, which has cut Chinese buying interest and triggered cancellations of contracts, it said in the report.
