ISTANBUL: Turkey posted a cash surplus of 3.38 billion lira ($1.37 billion) in January and a cash primary surplus of 8.02 billion lira, treasury data showed on Friday.
In 2014 as a whole, the cash deficit was 21.7 billion lira and the primary surplus was 16.52 billion lira. The cash budget measures the money the treasury actually receives and pays out in the month.
The primary balance excludes interest payments.
