Few can deny the impact of social media giant Facebook on daily lives of billions, now the tech giant wants to take over your workplace as well, as the company expands its roots in newer avenues.
The US based company plans to launch “Facebook At Work” in the next few weeks. The platform is a completely separate entity from the public social network, similar in looks and feel but with major differences such as no advertisements.
“Facebook believes it can keep individual employees engaged with the product, so it is betting on a pricing plan that charges companies per monthly active user instead of charging a flat rate per company,” said Julien Codorniou director Facebook At Work, reported TechCrunch.
One of the major feature’s in the “Facebook At Work” platform is a special Work Feed where subscribers can use the posts from colleagues to exchange ideas and take on tasks.
With the introduction of this new platform, Facebook will drive into competition with other social networks designed specifically for the enterprise crowd, reported CNET.
Microsoft’s Yammer, Slack, Skype, VMWare’s Socialcast and Convo are examples of such enterprise based network, providing collaboration tools, messaging, chatting, and other features to businesses of various sizes.
However, the price tag of ‘Facebook At Work’ hasn’t been learnt, as of late.
