Facebook photo sharing app Instagram has been a good investment for the social media giant, after it reached another milestone of joining the elite club of one billion on Google Play.
In doing so the photo sharing app now sits with app heavyweights i.e. the Facebook app, WhatsApp, Messenger and now Instagram, indicating the domination of the social media giant on the app world, reported Android Police.
Overall, the 1 billion installs, makes Instagram with 500 million accounts the 19th app to achieve this.
Facebook has been quite busy with the photo sharing Instagram, the app got a new logo in May, which was a visual redesign indicating a shift towards photos and videos rather than the app itself, reported Mashable. Than later in June, it released a new, timeline feature which shows users posts based on their interest, and then just days back it released the Stories, the feature that create temporary slideshows which disappear in a day.
