GIF’s have become one of the most popular means of communication, and that too in a pretty short span.
Almost all messaging apps on the internet supports some form of GIF integration, but so far WhatsApp remained stuck with its boring static images. The latest iOS beta release shows that it will likely change soon.
According to @WABetaInfo, which tracks changes to WhatsApp beta updates, shows that version 2.16.7.1 of the app will now support autoplay GIF links and will embed them directly into your conversations.
As pert The Next Web, the latest changes by WhatsApp, are just like a drop in the ocean, as compared to full-fledged GIF search in apps like Messenger or Wire, however, it means that at least you won’t have to open up a browser just to see what your friend is sending you.
Reports added, that the app will now be able to save GIFs ‘as a simple image,’ allowing you to save precious space.
