imageUber, the ride sharing company unveiled its new logo and it seem that it didn’t sit well with the public, as they quickly switched to the internet to express their dissatisfaction.

Uber, rebranded itself from the stylized black and white "U," to the new design features of an image that is called "atom and bit" by the company.

According to Busines Insider, few have praised the latest update by Uber, but like all other popular apps when they significantly changes their looks, have been facing an uproar and has turned some individuals on Twtter, calling it downright “ugly”.

Uber has also announced the visual re-branding in a blog post, which informed about how the app's icons will change depending on colors and patterns of the region.

Travis Kalanick, Uber co-founder and CEO, who was personally involved in the rebranding, tried to explain the redesign in a blog post.

"One of the big changes over the years is that Uber no longer moves just people; we’re now moving food, goods, and soon maybe much more," he wrote.

“Uber started out as everyone’s private driver…..Our new brand reflects that reality by working to celebrate the cities that Uber serves.”

According to CNN, The new logo will be used worldwide, said Uber’s spokeswoman, but will have a unique color scheme in each of the 68 countries that Uber operates in.

However, if one of the most valuable startups valued at some $65 billion is hoping to bogged down its critics along with its old logo, but it seems to run out of luck.
