FRANKFURT: Allianz, Europe's biggest insurer, on Thursday announced a 3.8 percent boost in net profits for 2014 at 6.2 billion euros.
The increase, led by strong performances in the damage and health insurance divisions, was up from 6.0 billion euros the previous year, the German company said in a statement.
The result was slightly lower than predicted by analysts.
The company said that it expected operating earnings this year to weigh in at between 10-10.8 billion euros, in line with 2014 earnings of 10.4 billion euros.
