KARACHI: Brisk shipping was observed at the Port Qasim where five ships scheduled to load/offload containers, wheat, chemicals and diesel oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal at FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.Meanwhile five more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy remained at 46% at the Port on Tuesday where a total of six ships namely, C.V Nedlloyed Drake, C.V Al-Abdali, M.V Protector, M.V Dover, M.T Pitaloka, and M.T Al-Soor II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.A cargo volume of 76,931 tonnes comprising 67,707 tonnes imports and 9,226 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,556 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.Two ships C.V Nedlloyed Drake and M.T Pitaloka sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships M.T Al-Soor II and C.V Al- Abdali are expected to sail on same day.
Five ships C.V ACX Reffesia, C.V CSAV Ranco, C.V Ville-de-Orion, M.T Kasugta and M.T Bunga Akasia carrying containers, chemicals and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and LCT respectively on Wednesday February 23.
