ISLAMABAD: The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) in Indian occupied Kashmir a constituent of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, has strongly condemned the continued house arrest of veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah.

APHC leader and the JKPM Chairman, Ghulam Ahmed Mir in a statement issued in Jammu said that India was using tactics of oppression and suppression to crush the ongoing freedom struggle in the occupied territory, Kashmir Media Service reported.

He said that the pro-liberation leadership could not be cowed down by subjecting it to third degree treatment.

He flayed the occupation authorities for unleashing a spree of illegal arrest and harassment of the youth across Jammu and Kashmir.

The JKPM Chairman extended his support to the strike call on Saturday given by Syed Ali Gilani to draw world attention towards the gross human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

He said that lack of concern shown by the international community against the atrocities committed by the troops in occupied Kashmir was very unfortunate.

Ghulam Ahmed Mir called upon the individuals and organizations championing the cause of human rights and civil liberties to take note of an alarming state of affairs in the occupied territory resulting due to the gross rights abuses.

He urged the civil society in India not to remain insensitive towards the crimes against humanity being committed by the troops in occupied Kashmir.
