LAHORE: More than 8,000 police officers and Jawans will perform their duty on Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH).

These views were expressed by Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Aslam Tareen while presiding over a meeting of senior police officers here on Sunday in which security arrangements for Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) were reviewed.

The CCPO ordered special surveillance and checking of all hotels, inns, bus and van stands to ward off any possibility of subversion and ensure law and order on Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH). He directed in making effective arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic on the occasion.

The CCPO said that all entry and exit points of the city would be manned and guarded. He said that crisis management centers had been established in the city, which would function round the clock while a special control room was also set up in the office of CCPO for coordination among various agencies.

He said that to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and harmony in the provincial metropolis during Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH), a comprehensive security plan had been chalked out after consultation with leaders and notables. He directed divisional SPs to personally check force deployment and patrolling of mobile squads in their respective areas. He said he would himself make surprise inspections to review security arrangements.
