Bollywood’s one of the most respected actors Anupam Kher turns 60 today. He appeared in several hundred films and many plays but he is popularity known for comical and supporting roles.
He was born on March 7, 1955 in a Brahmin family. He is one of those lucky actors to have worked in various languages - from critically acclaimed south-Indian films to different continents of English movies as well.
“Birthdays are meant for special occasions. I am opening my new play #MeraWohMatlabNahiTha today. Work makes one feel younger & happening”, Anupam shared with his friends and fans on Twitter on his special day.
He made his acting debut in Bollywood with the 1982 movie, ‘Aagman’. He was seen in various other supporting roles in movies like ‘Saaransh’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘A Wednesday’ and many more. He has bagged National Awards for his excellent performance in 'Daddy' and 'Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara'.
On the international turf, he has done projects like ‘Bend It like Beckham’, ‘Bride And Prejudice’, ‘Conquest, Lust?’, ‘You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger’ and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’.
On Twitter, he received several birthday wishes from the film fraternity as well as his fans. Thanking them he wrote, “On my landmark birthday today just want to say that God & Life has been kind to me. Your wishes are my vitamins. Thank you for loving me”.
