YouTube wants to end an age-old problem of internet and its limited connectivity, still persisted in many parts of the world, and it seems as if it has found the perfect solution called “Youtube Go”.
The YouTube Go app is Google’s attempt to penetrate into developing countries, the new app give users more options over quality and file size, offline viewing and sharing videos with nearby users without the drainage of data thanks to the use of Bluetooth, reported TechSpot.
"YouTube Go is a brand new app to help the next generation of users share and enjoy videos," YouTube product management VP Johanna Wright says in a blog post.
"YouTube Go was designed and built from the ground up with insights from India, in order to bring the power of video to mobile users in a way that is more conscious of their data and connectivity, while still being locally relevant and social."
The latest move by the Google owned enterprise comes as the company targets the next billion internet users, all set to come online, particularly in Indo-Pak, China, Brazil, and other high populated areas.
“The app is designed to be offline first and work even when there’s low or no connectivity. It’s also cost-effective, providing transparency and reducing data usage. And finally, it’s a social experience,” said Wright explaining the latest app advantages.
The app is currently available in Indian market for testing purpose, but there's no word on when the app will be launched formally.
