imageThe world largest social media platform Facebook remains busy with bringing newer products, this time it launches a new app with a surprising twist that it is not for people over the age of 21.

Meet the Lifestage, the app takes you one step closer to a video-first take on social networking, is now available on iOS.

“Lifestage makes it easy and fun to share a visual profile of who you are with your school network. Simply capture into a field on your profile, then post it on your profile. Once your school is unlocked, you can access the profiles of others in your school community (and all over!) so you can get to know people better in your school and nearby schools, discover others who are into the same stuff you are, and connect with them,” reads the app description.

Now, how does it works, for starters Lifestage opens directly to a camera screen, a signaling its focus on photos, and lets users browse the profiles of their school classmates, reported Fortune. It than asks you to shoot video with sad or happy faces, you can even dance. It then compiles those tidbits into a longer-form video reported The Next Web, which than becomes your main profile video.

Now, the reason behind introducing Lifestage remains unclear. As per reports, Facebook might simply wants to engage a younger generation, and also to attain their information at the same time, which if accurately plot down could provide a valuable source of marketing data.
