imageJapan is known worldwide for as a front-runner in the field of robotics, however, they should be wary as Chinese are not far behind.

Researchers from the University of Science and Technology, Hefei, China revealed a new realistic-looking humanoid robot named “Jia Jia.” Marking the Chinese debut into a field dominated by Japan, which have already launched female looking humanoids.

And the thing is, Chinese indeed made an impression, the Jia Jia humanoid robot is extremely realistic, coming with a flowing long hair and feminine features, it is hard not to mistake her (The Robot) for a real woman.

The robot introduced itself to the world, "Hello everyone, I'm Jia Jia. Welcome!" greeting the audience at the university's multi-media center.

"Don't come too close to me when you are taking a picture. It will make my face look fat," Jia Jia added.

The humanoid robot was developed by a robot research and development team at the USTC, which also developed the model service robot "Kejia." According to The Sun, it took Chen Xiaoping the robot creator and his team three years to build Jia Jia.

When Xiaoping said hello to her at the unveiling the robot answered, "Yes my lord, what can I do for you?"

Xiaoping said, "We hope to develop the robot so it has deep learning abilities. We will add facial expression recognition and make it interact more deeply with people."
