Bollywood music maestro AR Rahman enthralled the audience with his popular songs at the closing ceremony of the four-day Vadodara International Art and Culture Festival ‘Vadfest’.
‘VadFest’ festival 2015 is one of India's biggest multi-arts, multi-venue culture festivals, including artists from across India and around the world. The four day celebration includes art, music, dance, drama, culture and food.
Rahman sang a couple of his own numbers like ‘Dil Se’ and concluded the three-and-half hour musical show last night with the rendition of his ‘Vande Mataram’ composition, Indian media reported.
According to Indian media reports, over 30,000 people enjoyed the musical night at Navlakhi compound of the 125-year-old Lakshmi Vilas Palace in the city. On the occasion, Rahman said, “My wife is from Gujarat and I love singing here and composed a Gujarati song for the Vadfest”.
Rahman is known for his innovative background music and is considered as one of the finest-ever background composers. His songs are evergreen and can be heard anytime, anywhere.
