Grammy winning singer, songwriter and actor Adam Levine will perform the Oscar nominated song ‘Lost Stars’ at the 87th Academy awards in Dolby theatre in Hollywood.
According to foreign media reports, Oscar’s producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan said in a statement, “Adam Levine is an exceptional and dynamic artist. We’re thrilled to have him make his Oscars stage debut this year”.
Levine also took to Twitter to confirm the news and tweeted, “So, I’ll be singing at the Oscars! Whaaaat??! Thank you The Academy! #LostStars”.
Levine is the lead singer for the group ‘Maroon 5’ which has received three Grammy Awards so far. He had never performed on-stage on any of the Academy awards before, he will make his Oscar’s stage debut this year by performing on ‘Lost Stars’.
‘Lost Stars’ written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois for the film ‘Begin Again’ has been nominated for the Original Song category in this year’s Academy award.
The 87th Academy awards hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, will air on Sunday, February 22 live on ABC.
