Singer turned actor Taylor Swift has been named ‘Billboard’s Woman of the Year 2014’. Swift is the first artist to receive this award twice.
She's also the only female artist in music history ever who has crossed $1 million first-week sales figure for 2010's ‘Speak Now’ and 2012's ‘Red’. Swift made her latest chart headlines when her newest single, ‘Shake It Off’ became her ‘Billboard hot 100 No. 1’ along with ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’.
Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group said, “As one of the most influential artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has seen incredible success on the Billboard charts,” media reported.
Swift will receive the ‘Billboard Women award’ in Music award ceremony which will be held in New York on December 12, 2014.
