imageBollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar has landed themselves in a legal trouble after an FIR has been registered against them for criminal breach of trust and forgery for promoting an online shopping site which is allegedly ‘duping’ customers.

According to Indian media reports, An FIR has been registered by a lawyer in Lucknow who had ordered a 40-inch LED TV worth Rs 29,999 which he had paid for by his debit card. He was promised that his order would be delivered to him within 10 days, but it didn’t. So the customer filed an FIR against the website’s directors, Farhan and Ranbir under IPC sections 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (forgery) on September 19.

According to him, the celebrities who endorse the product also dupe the customers into using the portal. He alleged that people fall in such trap due to promotions by bigger stars.

Police is looking into this matter, while website officials didn’t responded to the recent controversy.
