Salman Khan’s latest release ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is destroying the box office, shattering records in the way of its supersonic sprint to the top. After a monster weekend in which it made the quickest Rs 100 crores, the film has made over Rs 200 crores (worldwide) in box office receipts.
‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ opened to Rs 27.25 crore at the box office, and ever since, the collections have been spectacular. The first weekend helped the film cross the Rs 100-crore mark, and the next two days got the film another Rs 50 crore, Indian media reported.
The movie was released on Eid weekend which became the main reason of such strong box office collection.
Not only ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, which was released earlier this year and collected Rs 150 crores on its eight week, Salman’s latest film has also shattered the records of his previous films ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Bodyguard’. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is now the 12th highest grossing Bollywood film of all time.
The film, directed by Kabir Khan, stars Salman Khan as a simple and an honest person who embarks on a mission to see a speech-impaired little girl safely home to Pakistan. It also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the prominent role.
