imageSalman Khan’s most anticipated movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ became the first film around the Indo-Pak theme to get a clearance for a screening in Pakistan this Eid. The Pakistan Central Censor Board had given a go ahead to the Kabir Khan-directed movie, but with few cuts.

However, due to some legal issues revolving around the makers of the movie and Pakistan’s music label EMI, The Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) has held the certification of Bajrangi Bhaijan ‘for some time’ until the legal matters highlighted by EMI Pakistan, pertaining to the licensing of Bhardo Jholi, are sorted.

Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) chairman Mobashir Hasan told a local media that the certificate for the film would only be issued once both parties notify them that the legal dispute surrounding the movie is settled.

If the matter has not been resolved between both parties in due time then the qawwali shall be removed from the film.

The Kabir Khan directorial narrates the story of a Hindu man on a mission to take a young Pakistani girl, who is dumb and mute, back to her country. It chronicles the adventures and experiences he stumbles upon during his road trip. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and will hit screens worldwide on Friday, July 18.
