Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has ousted Salman Khan’s most anticipated movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in Pakistan.
Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor starrer is all set to release on Eid next week but not in Pakistan. As per the latest reports, the Pakistani government is planning to postpone the release of Salman’s film in the country to avoid clash with two of biggest films, Mahira Khan‘s ‘Bin Roye’ and Danish Taimoor’s ‘Wrong No’.
According to Indian media reports, there is no clarity on the release of BB in Pakistan yet as the makers still have to receive a certificate from the Pakistani Censor Board. A source was quoted saying, “Certification is a cumbersome process and so, films are generally shown to a foreign censor board about two weeks prior to release. However, in Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s case, it has not been screened yet”.
Mahira Khan dismisses any talk of competition, pointing out that while the Salman-starrer will open in 1000-plus screens, her story of love and loss will probably not get more than 50. “I've been waiting for my film for a while now. Every three months, I was told it is opening,” sighs Mahira. While her film will be an Eid attraction in India and Pakistan, Salman’s cross-border story has yet to be cleared in Pakistan, Times of India reported.
‘Bin Roye’ is a romantic drama which also stars Zeba Bakhtiar, Javed Sheikh and Junaid Khan among others and has been directed by Momina Duraid of ‘Humsafar’ fame.
