Bollywood lover boy Ranbir Kapoor, who is off for a romantic break with her alleged girlfriend Katrina Kaif has revealed his darker side to the people. He confesses how his life has changed by reading a novel ‘The Outsider’.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the actor was overheard saying, “I don't give a damn anymore. I identify with ‘The Outsider’. I think I am him. I could not put the book down and read it in six days straight. I also don’t cry anymore. I cannot remember the last time I cried. I am hoping I get to play this character on the big screen since I identify with him”.
‘The Outsider’ is a story about an indifferent man (Meursault) who, after attending his mother’s funeral, kills an Arab man. The story is divided into two parts: Meursault’s first-person narrative view before and after the murder, respectively.
Ranbir, who is mostly seen as a happy-go-lucky boy in his movies, has been impressed with such philosophical novel and depressed character. However, he will be seen in a similar kind of role in his upcoming movie ‘Bombay Velvet’.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, ‘Bombay Velvet’ will hit theatres on May 15, 2015.
