B-town actors walk the ramp with their star parents for renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra with many others in the audience cheering for them. ‘Mijwan - The Legacy’ marks four years of designer Manish Malhotra’s association with the NGO Mijwan Welfare Society headed by Shabana Azmi.
The theme of the fashion show was well-known celebrities from the movie industry walking down the ramp with their children, who will carry forward their legacy.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan walked the ramp with his daughter Shweta Bachchan-Nanda, while Jaya Bachchan walked down the ramp with son Abhishek Bachchan to lend support to actress-activist Shabana Azmi's NGO Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS).
Sonakshi Sinha walked down the ramp with his ‘shotgun’ father Shatrughan Sinha, while Sonam Kapoor rocked on stage with legendary Anil Kapoor on her side.
Writer/poet Javed Akhtar also walked the ramp with his son Farhan Akhtar as per the theme of the show.
On this occasion designer Manish Malhotra said, “Through this initiative, the Mijwan women got an opportunity to become independent, and I got to showcase to the world the best that our country has to offer. After 4 years of working together these talented women are to me now like family, even as our association has further deepened by weaving threads of change for future generations. Therefore the new collection is very modern, drawing inspiration from the young who are proud to celebrate Indian craftsmanship with a fresh voice,” Indian media reported.
