Indian director/screenwriter Rajkumar Hirani will visit Pakistan in April 2015. Hirani’s ancestors originally belong to Mehrabpur, a city in the Naushahro Firoz District in Sindh, and in an interview to a local media, the director has expressed a desire to visit his parent’s hometown.
Film enthusiasts and students will have the opportunity to interact and learn from one of the best in the business, as celebrated Bollywood film director and editor Rajkumar Hirani will be visiting Pakistan in the first week of April to conduct a filmmaking workshop at the Karachi Arts Council, local media reported.
According to media reports, Hirani said that he believes on peace and brotherhood. He said that his film ‘PK’ upholds the true spirit of religion while condemning only the abuse of it. The intent of the film is to uphold this great thought. Hirani personally feels that the Indo-Pak relations must be strengthened in all spheres, whether it is politics, sports or entertainment.
After the success of his last film ‘PK’, Rajkumar Hirani says he is busy with his next project which is a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt. The 52-year-old director has worked with Dutt in films like ‘Munnabhai MBBS’, ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ and ‘PK’. He is currently serving a five-year jail term.
