Akshay Kumar upcoming movie ‘Baby’ which openly discuss terrorism issues and features Pakistani actor Rashid Naz as a prime antagonist against India. The movie has been assumed as an anti-Pakistan movie, but Akshay Kumar clears all the speculations that it doesn’t target any specific nation.
According to Indian media reports, director of the movie said, “‘Baby’ is not an anti-Pakistan film. In fact, it has three Pakistani actors who play very important roles. See, some elements in Pakistan can be wrong but a whole nation cannot be wrong. Terrorism has no religion, and we believe that religion and country are two different things”.
The character named Maulana Abdur Rahman who is shown to head a terror outfit from outside India has been played by Pakistani actor Rashid Naz. He talks openly of ‘freeing’ Kashmir from India and he plans attacks on Indian cities. He is on the most-wanted list of the FBI and RAW.
Pakistan has witnessed a trend of censorship for films believed to be controversial by the main censor board of the country. While the Bollywood ‘Baby’ film is slated for release on January 23, cinemas in Pakistan bear no signs of the film on their website schedules or ‘coming soon’ tabs. In the past, the local censor board has also banned ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer that featured her in the avatar of an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent, local media reported.
Directed by Neeraj Panday and produced by Bhushan Kumar, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Mikaal Zulfiquar and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles.
