Female fans of ‘Sherlock’ star officially accepted the term ‘Cumberbitches’. Although the term seems quite offensive but they have happily accepted the word for their love for Benedict Cumberbatch.
But, on the other hand Cumberbatch finds it quite rude and requested his fans to replace the title with some decent word like ‘Cumbersomes’, ‘Cumbercollective’ or ‘Cumberfans’.
According to media reports, Benedict Cumberbatch says though he is flattered his female fans call themselves ‘Cumberbitches’, the actor finds the term a bit rude. He said, “It’s funny and I’m flattered. But on a serious note, come on, give yourself more power as women. Don’t just call yourself bitches! I know it was a joke, and more of an empowering thing. The majority of (the fans) are smart and savvy and just having fun, but it's getting out there. It sounds a bit (rude)”.
Benedict Cumberbatch broke millions of hearts when he announced his engagement to theater director and actress, Sophie Hunter. He is currently filming special Christmas ‘Sherlock’ episode which will go on-air in January.
