Bollywood leggy beauty Deepika Padukone said awards are important for her as it’s a sign of appreciation and hard work. The actress has won many awards in her short acting career.
According to Indian media reports ‘Happy New Year’ actress said, “Awards matter to me. I would have been very disappointed if I wasn’t given any award last year. No matter what we say but at the end of the day, the person who goes there and wins the award feels good about it”.
“It's a sign of appreciation and hard work. If you are winning one then you are doing a good job”, she added.
The ‘Happy New Year’ actress, who made her debut with the king of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’ feels that her 2012 released movie ‘Cocktail’ was the turning point of her career. Previously, Actress faced negative reviews from her movies ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Housefull’ but she never took it as a failure, infact it motivated her to do better next time.
“Some of my films didn't work so I went through that rough phase and I think I made use of that time and realized my mistakes. Instead of being bogged down, I made use of it. 'Cocktail' was the turning point in my career”, the actress said.
Padukone recently released film ‘Happy New Year’ is going strong in theatres and has been receiving mostly positive reviews for her acting in the film.
