According to the Times of India Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is discontented with the new release date of Rajkumar Hirani’s forthcoming film ‘Peekay’.
Kahsyap is not happy with Hirani as the latter postponed ‘Peekay’ from June 6th to December 25th, only to clash with his forthcoming film ‘Bombay Velvet’.
Rumours about the release date of Amir Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer being pushed to Christmas have been swirling around for quite some time, but when Kashyap earlier enquired from Hirani the latter quashed any such reports.
"All it would have taken is a phone call. I heard the rumours and called Raju to tell him that if they were indeed planning a Christmas release to please let me know in advance. At that point, they said there were no such plans," the Times of India quoted Kashyap as saying.
The ‘Dev D’ director was reportedly left fuming when he got to know from Khan’s tweet that the delay rumours were actually true.
"It hurts because I respect Raju as a filmmaker and as a person. Apart from being a colleague, he is also a friend," he added.
However, Kashyap said he and Hirani will try to sort out the release dates as it will certainly damage both the films’ profit margins.
‘Bombay Velvet’ will feature Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka in the leads alongside Raveena Tandon, Kay Kay Menon and Siddharth Basu in supporting roles.
