Priyanka Chopra and her actress cousin Parineeti are set to clash at the box office with the release of their respective films action-remake 'Zanjeer' and romantic-comedy 'Shuddh Desi Romance'.
The Desi Girl denies any rift with cousin Parineeti, and remains unfazed calling it a 'Chopra weekend'.
"The way I see it, it's a Chopra weekend. So go and enjoy the movies," Priyanka told Indian media outlets while promoting her animation film ‘Planes’. “She is my sister, my family. It is very cheap when people try to create controversy and use that to write a little more about it. It is a Chopra weekend and people must enjoy it.”
Produced by Amit Mehra and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, "Zanjeer" is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1973 blockbuster hit and features southern star Ram Charan, Sanjay Dutt and Mahi Gill in the lead roles.
On the other hand, "Shuddh Desi Romance" stars Parineeti opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, Rishi Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles.
Meanwhile Parineeti who is also busy with the promotion of her film, is reportedly looking forward to watching her cousin in the Bollywood remake.
"It's just happens that her (Priyanka) film and my film are releasing together, but it doesn't affect us. I will watch her picture and she will watch mine and you all will watch both the films," she was quoted as saying.
