Although he looks like he hasn’t aged a day, especially in 2009 film “3 Idiots,” Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan turns 48 today.
If rumors are anything to go by, the great Khan will not be able to celebrate his special day with his family as he’s busy in Switzerland shooting for Yash Raj Films’ “Dhoom 3,” with co-star Katrina Kaif. Reportedly, the film’s crew, led by Director Vijay Krishna Acharya, plans to surprise the actor-turned-filmmaker by ordering him a birthday cake to cut on set and maybe even hosting a dinner party for the entire team!
The actor’s ticket to stardom was his romantic film “Qayamat se Qayamat Tak” in 1988 with co-star Juhi Chawla.
Since then his performance in super-hit flicks “Andaz Apna Apna”, “Dil Chahta Hai” and “Rang De Basanti” has won the hearts of millions across the globe. While “Lagaan” had the honor of being among the few Bollywood titles to receive an Oscar nomination, standing testimony to Khan’s dedication to his career is the way he worked hard to beef himself up for his role as a crazy recluse bent on revenge in “Ghajini.”
Not only is he a brilliant actor, but he is a famed director and social activist too. His first foray into the film making arena with “Taare Zameen Par” made him an instant success as a director. His talk show, “Satyamev Jayate” where he is the host, explores his socially conscious side.
As if it wasn’t enough to be world-famous and good-looking, he boasts an impressive 36 seconds completion time on a Rubik’s cube!
