Gerard-ButlerDirector of Training Day and Shooter, Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming movie Olympus Has Fallen is to hit theatres 22nd March. With its star-studded cast, its sensational plot and CGI action, the film is highly reminiscent of the Die Hard series, but with more to offer.

When the White House (code-named Olympus) is invaded by a terrorist mastermind and his team, the nation is terrified and Congressman Speaker Martin Trumbull (Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman) must do something. Cue Mike Banning (Oscar-winner Gerard Butler), dishonored ex-presidential guard, who must now combine his ingenuity and experience with national security squads to save the White House and the kidnapped President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart).

Other Oscar-nominees and award-winners in the cast include Ashley Judd (Heat), Angela Bassett (Malcolm X), Rick Yune (The Man with the Iron Fists), Melissa Leo (The Fighter) and Radha Mitchell (Silent Hill).

Rated R for violence, the action flick has a runtime of 2 and a half hours. Despite its hackneyed plot, its impressive cast and its $80 million budget almost guarantee its popularity.
