Since the usual sources of energy i.e. oil and gas continues to deplete, scientists and companies alike have been actively seeking newer alternatives to energy.
‘HomeBiogas,’ an Israeli based firm, has introduced a biogas system, which converts food and other organic waste into clean cooking gas, whereas, its byproduct can be used as liquid plant fertilizer. And the best part is yet to come, i.e. it is easy to assemble and operates without the need of electricity.
According to Huffington Post, the system utilizes all kinds of organic waste i.e. meat, dairy and even excrete into the system. Once the waste goes inside, the bacteria inside the digester decompose the organic material and release biogas.
And how much gas, you may ask about out 6 kilowatt-hours of energy or “In layman terms, enough gas for three hours of cooking,” said Ami Amir, marketing and business development HomeBiogas, reported Waste 360.
“It accepts meat, fish, fats, oils and dairy stuff — all of which are not treatable by composters,” he added. The gas can be used for lighting or heating water by using devices that are compatible with low-pressure biogas, informed Amir.
Being easy to set up and break down, the HimeBioGas works without electricity and is ideal for villages, lacking basic electricity.
