MULTAN: Diction used by different female characters in novels of iconic writer Intizar Hussain is beautiful and decent.
He also highlighted strong belief of women in superstitions through female characters besides their other behaviours.
Head of Urdu Department Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Dr Aqeela Javid expressed these views while talking to APP here on Wednesday.
She said Intizar Hussain was a towering personality of Urdu literature and added that he was a follower of traditions of the past.
"Intizar sahib was a literary figure with distinctive style whose accent was matchless," Dr Aqeela said and added that she had a chance to spend some time with him in a SAARC conference in India where he was honoured and respected a lot.
Former Principal Govt Post Graduate Civil Lines College Prof Anwar Jamal said with the legendary writer's demise a century of literature had buried.
Anwar Jamal who himself is a poet and an author of books said Intizar Hussain was a writer of international fame who had stepped into literary world at a very young age.
He informed that Hussain introduced symbolism in his novels first of all. After him, Saadat Hussain Manto used this technique, he stated. The vacuum created by Intizar Hussain's demise would be filled after centuries, Jamal said.
