imageISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Pakistan in Japan on Monday hosted a calligraphy exhibition displaying the art work of retired Lt. General and Ambassador Humayun Bangash.

Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, the chief guest inaugurated the calligraphy exhibition held at the embassy.

Among the guests who attended the exhibition were from the Diplomatic Corps, parliamentarians, corporate executives, the academia and the media, said a press release received here.

Princess Takamado praised the art of calligraphy, drawing comparisons with traditional Japanese calligraphy.

She appreciated the beauty of the calligraphy and understood the meaning through the Japanese translations which had been placed alongside the paintings.

The Ambassador welcomed the Princess Takamado, who is recognized as the premier Japanese Patron of the Arts and noted that this was the first time that an art exhibition had been inaugurated by a member of the Imperial Family.

Humayun Bangash, also the Patron of the Calligraphic Association of Pakistan, in his comments expressed deep appreciation for Princess Takamado.

He explained the calligraphic art work in detail to the Princess.After touring the exhibition, she also enjoyed some delicious Pakistani food.
