imageBollywood star Aamir Khan has come out in support of ‘Action 2015’ campaign announced by Malala Yousafzai on December 10, last year. The campaign aims to address world-changing issues of climate, poverty and inequality.

According to media reports, ‘Action 2015’ is a global initiative wherein world leaders have signed on to eradicate poverty. Two critical United Nations summits will take place this year. The first in September, where the world must agree new goals to eradicate extreme poverty, tackle inequality and ensure a more sustainable planet. The second is the climate summit in December where we must ensure the well being of people today doesn’t come at the expense of our children’s futures.

Many international celebrities have also come out in support of this campaign including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Shakira, Malala Yousafzai, Bill Gates, Hugh Jackman, José Padilha, Bono and Ted Turner among others. Aamir Khan has signed an open letter to represent India in ‘Action 2015’.

As a part of Action 2015, ‘PK’ actor will work towards achieving the New Millinium Goals which are; removing poverty, education for all children and protecting the environment among other goals.

Various other B-town celebrities have also raised their voices in support of ‘Action 2015’.

Bollywood fashionista Sonam Kapoor took to Twitter to support the campaign. She tweeted, “2015 could be a turning point in history, join me and Action2015 and make our voices heard”.

Akshay Kumar also tweeted, “Now is the time for action! Join Action2015 & raise your voice for a better future”.
