‘Slumdog Millionaire’ actress Freida Pinto will meet Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai at the Nobel Peace Prize concert on December 11 in Oslo, Norway.
A source revealed, “Freida is a global icon. She will be representing India at the ceremony and extending her support to the winners. She will cheer both Malala and Satyarthi for their incredible work and achievement. The Hollywood actress will be attending the concert today. She will also be presenting Malala at the concert to the crowd”.
Pakistani education activist Malala Yousafzai and India’s Kailash Satyarthi were felicitated with the honor during a ceremony on December 10 which Pinto was also planning to attend. Reportedly, she will now attend the Nobel Peace Prize concert today.
Pinto is also a women activist who has been raising voice for women empowerment and women rights on different platforms. In 2012 she was also named as a Global ambassador for Plan International USA’s ‘Because I am a Girl’ initiative.
Recently, she has launched a documentary film ‘Girl Rising’ which features seven Bollywood actresses’ altogether, to raise awareness about importance of girl’s education.
