A man claiming to be the mastermind behind the posting of Jennifer Lawrence and other celebrities’ nude photos online said he doesn’t see any problem with it. He finds it good PR (public relations) practice for the victimized celebrities.
According to foreign media reports, the 28-year-old Russian Sergio Kholodovskii isn’t the hacker who stole the celebrities’ intimate photos from their private files, but claims he is the brains behind the site that uploaded the photos, saying, “I’m in charge of hosting and all technical matters to do with the running of this site”. Kholodovskii maintained that the photos that they post on their site were not hacked and were taken from open sources.
He further added, “There is no illegal activity behind this site, if there are more pictures to post, we will post them too. I would not call it sex abuse. These pictures are good PR for these celebrities. Some of them were not that (well) known before. Now people are talking about them”.
More than 100 celebrities’ private photos have been published online including Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Kardashian and Kate Upton, and it’s believed to be the biggest photo scandal ever. Lawrence had recently termed it as ‘sexual violation’.
