Singer turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham has been appointed as ‘UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador’, recently she skipped her store opening at London for the worthy cause and appeared at the United Nations headquarters in New York city to address the general assembly.
According to foreign media reports the former ‘Spice Girl’ singer said, “I work closely with the Elton John's AIDS Foundation as well as ‘mothers2mothers’. I'm a mother, I'm a woman and I want to reach out and help as many women and mothers as I can. Babies should not be born with HIV”.
Beckham also said she is looking forward to her new role as an ambassador and her main objective will be to make sure that children are born without HIV . She further said, children and women who are living with affected virus they need more care and medicine, media reported.
Previously, Beckham has also raised money for the cause of children and mother living with HIV in sub-sharan Africa .she hosted an online sale of 600 items from her wardrobe.
Beckham also took Twitter to raise awareness regarding HIV Aids and tweed, “As a woman & a mother I want to make change happen and support the UNAids vision. Together we can end the Aids epidemic”.
