‘Harry Potter’ star Emma Watson met the youngest ever Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai at the premiere of a documentary about her, called ‘He Named Me Malala’.
While in an interview, Malala has discussed variety of topics including education and identifying with feminism as a symbol of human equality.
According to foreign media reports, Malala said, “Regarding the goal that I have set, it is very simple and straight-forward. Every single child should have access to education,” she said. “Every child in the world should have access to primary and secondary education. Malala also spoke on feminism and stated that she hesitated at first at the word but then started using it”.
“I consider myself a feminist. Feminism to me, is another word for equality.” Malala was all praise for her dad whom she credited with standing up for her right to education and freedom. She also highlighted the importance of men supporting education and stated that it was necessary. “Men must also campaign for the rights of women,” she said. “We must work side by side and with each other.”
The British actress Emma Watson posted a video on her official account Facebook with a caption showing just how much she loved meeting Malala.
Yousafzai is the subject of the documentary, ‘He Named Me Malala’, directed by filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, is an intimate portrait of Malala, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley.
